DIFK Deutsches Institut für Feuerfest und Keramik with new managing director From January 2024, Dr. Arian Esfehanian will heads the institute.
Höhr- Grenzhausen, November 6, 2023
From January 1, 2024, Dr. Arian Esfehanian (48) is the managing director of DIFK Deutsches Institut für Feuerfest und Keramik GmbH. He succeeds Prof. Dr. Peter Quirmbach, who handed over the management at the end of March 2023. He complements the management board in the European Center for Refractories alongside Thomas Kaczmarek (DFFI Deutsche Feuerfest- Industrie e.V.) and Dr. Christian Dannert (Forschungsgemeinschaft Feuerfest e.V.).
For obtaining his B.Sc. in the field of engineering ceramics at the Iranian University for science and industry in Tehran, Dr. Esfehanian, analyzed and researched the structure of the mullite-corundum refractory bricks under the direction of Prof. Golestani Fard. While studying, he worked in the research center for refractory concrete and examined corrosion processes in the melting furnace lining at a glass manufacturer.
During his master's degree at the Research Center for Materials & Energy and his doctorate at the Institute for Non-Metallic Materials at Clausthal University of Technology, he focused on the development of new measurement methods for the mechanical properties of ceramics. After starting his career in business at Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics Rödental refractory products moved forward in his focus again.
In his last 10-year position at Eisenmann Thermal Solutions GmbH & Co. KG from Böblingen, which was taken over in January 2020 from ONEJOON GmbH, he worked in the innovation team to examine abrasion and pressure resistance as well as thermal shock resistance of mullite-corundum based large-format panels to improve performance.
